I recently purchased a 2008 1/2 ton Silverado WT, that I installed a snow plow for personal use. I am having trouble finding a fuse that is only on when the truck is running. The snow plow wiring has a small wiring adapter that attaches to a 10 to 20 amp fuse and the instructions say that it needs to be on a fuse that is powered on, only when the engine is running. I have searched for plugs and fuses and I am unsure of the best location for this auxiliary wiring. I have checked every fuse in the interior fuse box and they are all powered on at all times. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jeff
Have you checcked the fuse block under the hood on the driwers side?
go to alldatadiy.com, if you can afford about 15 bucks to subscribe to this website for a year. It would probably help you out with wiring and fuses and a whole lot more. It's a website that provides all technical information for any old or new vehicle out there. It has part numbers, instructions for removing and replacing pretty much every component of your vehicle, description and operation of parts, wiring diagrams, part locations, etc. etc. It breaks everything down by systems like, engine, powertrain, suspension, electrical...everything. I've been using this site for years and I love it. Hope this helps you and anyone else looking for detailed technical information for their vehicles.
