I was practicing with my crossbow the other day.

This is why I have to hunt with a crossbow.

Wow Tom... your orange mustache is *identical* to the fleching of your arrows, you ever notice that!? That is awesome!

Good luck to all of those going out this year. I should look into getting a deer tag soon and getting out the ol' bow. I'm not much for trophy hunting and as long as it's got meat and looks like a nice adult, it's likely to get a shot.

...of course I say that but have to admit, I've not taken any yet. I've always found an excuse.

    "Too far."
    "Too close."
    "Too young."
    "Not a good angle."
    "Too damn cute."
"Only two feet away.. wouldn't be able to pull it off." ***

***special story with that one but it's a little long. I'll have to post one of these days for someone with insomnia

LOL Nice pictures Tom. Although, from what you have told us about how much of a deerslayer your HHR is, no need for the crossbow right? Nice robinhood BTW!

(((pssstt!! I think we might be missing the genius behind Tom's way....I think he let's his HHR do the hard work.... then all he has to do is get out, put an orange hunting cap on, dig one of his crossbow darts into the deer and tag it. Genius!)))

Don't have to tag the Work of the Deer Slayer, but I prefer the meat from a bow or rifle kill.

I've been having a turky problem recently. Theres been a bunch of hens on the side of the road as i drive to school everymorning and for some reason they've been meandering into the road right past a blind curve, so i come around the corner and BAM (for the truky, the truck hardly moves).

We have a few turkeys as well:

    And here's a buck I haven't seen before, looks like maybe a 9 point:

That 9-point would be a 5-point (only can count one side) in Washington State. Still bigger than anything I have ever bagged. Some would refer to it as a 4X5. I'm not sure why over here they count the points like they do. Even in the game regulations it states for certain areas the minimum is 2-point (which would be on one side) and same as a 3-point. A spike would be single points on both sides. What's your biggest buck Gary?
