    what do i need to do to swap a 4.3 v6 to a 5.7 v8

The 4.3 and 5.7 are essentially the same motor with the front 2 cylinders chopped off of the 4.3. Therefore, it is pretty much a direct swap. The bolt pattern to the bell housing are the same. The engine connectors should all be the same, and the computer will (through it's "Adaptive Memory" ) will figure out how to run the new engine in a short period of time.

Things to remember: if you are pulling out a TBI fuel injected engine, that is what you will need to put back in. Otherwise, the computer will have to be replaced in order to run the electronics and sensors on the new engine.

Also, you might need to upgrade the radiator to a larger capacity. I doubt you will have to mess with upgrading the suspension. In cars, you would have to get heavier springs, etc. You might have to re-locate or replace the motor mounts.

    Good luck.
