I always try to do all my own work on my truck, but I screwd this one up. I was replacing the front passenger seal on my 04 2500hd. It has an 8.1 with allison if that makes a difference. When I pulled it appart, the pieces fell everywhere. I didn't see a shim on the end of the drive shaft. I don't know if I lost it or not. Could it have been pushed into my front differential when I put it back together? If I did lose it somewhere on the ground how can I replace it. I went to a dealership and they told me I needed to know what size it is. I'm stuck for ideas. Any help would be very appreciated.I

Got a Haynes or a Chlilton manual? If not, go get one. There should be a section that goes through the breakdown and reassembly of that area

i have an exploded view of it, but I don't remember seeing that shim when I was taking it apart. I'm just wondering if I overlooked it when putting it back together, and pushed it inside the differential.
