Is there some type of comparison out there for cold air intake systems in a 2007 2500HD Silverado w/ the 6.0L Vortec?

im sure there is a thread somwhere on here
id recomend a plastic intake tube as opposed to a polished metal tube ..
the metal abosobs more heat therefore less hp and mpg

I have always had good luck with K&N in every aspect, and they last a million miles so u will never have to buy a new filter ever again as long as you clean it

I've had good luck with both AiRaid and K&N. There's nothing magical about the technology, and they both flow pretty much the same. I just got an AiRaid for my 07 Silverado.
I've always used K&N FIPK on my Fuel Injected trucks and have nothing but good things to say about them.
However, my dad just put an AFE Brute Force intake on his truck and it is every bit as good as the K&N's I've used in the past.
THose would be my two recommendations.
Thanks for the feedback everyone.![]()
i always use the stock air box and a stock K&N type (cotton) filter replacement filter. i then look at the intake plumbing and remove any kinks or make a new one out of PVC and a duct to fresh cool air......no issues yet...mike

K&N Cold air intake
I just put the airaid modular intake tube on the suburban, with a K&N filter, and have noticed the same performance increase, if not more, than on my silverado with the whole FIPK. The stock airbox is relatively efficient, and the modular intake tube eliminates any baffles. Basically the stock airbox brings in air from outside of the engine bay (through the fender) rather than hot air under the hood (FIPK). Noticeably improved "growl" with throttle as well.
Basically, the M.I.T. is just the tube from the airbox/MAF to the throttle body, just straight tube, no baffles. $100 for the tube, and $50 for the filter beats the $300+ for the FIPK..., and you get cooler airflow...

Go Pack Go!
K&N is the best go with the FIPK2 its a thermoplastic tube with the legendary filter it will give you what your looking for.
