    Default Check Eng Light

I' have a 2004 Silverado 2500 HD Turbo Diesel and am having some problems with a fast acceleration. No problems when I ease on the accelerator, but the minute I push hard the thing dies like it's out of gas / air, then the engine check light comes on?? I'm assuming that I have an OBDII system?? I need to find out what code is being sent so that I can fix / repair. I saw in an earlier post about going to the local auto parts stores (advance, auto zone, etc) to have them read the system- great idea. Thanks in advance for the help!

i have a 2003 1500, and mine is having the same problem. even GM mechanics are stumped bye this problem all that they can tell me is that it is a sencor on the exhaust that is bad and it could be any of them, the cool part is that it could be any of them, all that they can do to trouble shoot the problem is to start replacing all the sencors, which some of them are kinda costly. i know that what im telling you doesnt answer your question but it could help you looking in the right direction.

It could be something as simple as changing your fuel filter, but having that code would help.

Thanks, appreciate the info; I just need to get the code read and see what comes up.
