Default Sloppy joes attacked my truck!!!!

On my way to work tonight I had a crock pot filled with sloppy joe meat (loose meat sandwiches to other parts of the country) anyhow some prick pulled out in front of me and the pot tipped spilling the greasy mess all over the passanger door and floor, the problem is some of it got in the speaker. How hard is it to take off the door panel on a 99 suburban, any tricks or tips greatly appreciated thanks!!

Not the dreaded sloppy joe incident!

Reminds me of the time we went to my parents for Thanksgiving dinner and my dad smoked a small turkey so we baked one and brought it with us. When we got to my parents, the broth and greasy juice had sloshed out of the roasting pan and onto the carpet of our minivan creating quite a mess.

    Good luck with that clean-up.

Did that with coffee once. Some guy pulled right in front of me and I hit my brakes and 24 oz of hot coffee went everywhere! Worst thing is that you just have to eat it (so to speak) because there was no collision.

Good luck cleaning that up. Reminds me of a story I told here once.

Did the exact same thing - thanksgiving turkey going to wife's company and when I got there the turkey juice had gotten all over the carpet in the grand caravan!

As for the sloppy joe clean-up...I've not taken the door panel off just yet but from what I've been reading up on it's not all too difficult. To clean the stuff up... I would say that if it can be taken out of the truck and is not electrical hose it down. From the plastic to the insulation to the carpeting if there's any on the bottom of the panel. If it's sloppy-joed, then it may as well get water soaked for cleanup.

    Good luck with it all!

I'm writing that down in my Big Book of Automotive Knowledge and Facts:

"Dodge products: Not thanksgiving turkey friendly."

Actually... you'd think that this would be something they'd have in the manual... I'mma have to look into that.

I had a similar incident on thanksgiving last year, I was driving my grandmother home and I was bringing the giblets for my grandfather so he could make soup, and it was sitting in a pan wrapped up but still proceeded to leak all over my leather seats and onto the carpet. The truck smelled like turkey for 3 weeks.

We had to take the door panel out of my dad's 02 silverado front door panel. It was relatively easy after we figured out how to do it. Anyways, there are a handful of screws, and you have the take the panel out around the inside door handle. The tricky part is the "tabs" all the way around the door panel. Pull outward to get those loose, then after the perimeter is loose, you have to pull up first, then out. There are a handful of tabs on the inside that go downwards into the door, and then the top part of the panel (has the window "liner" on it) pops up as well.

Not too hard once you do it the first time...
