I have an 06 silverado 1500 z71 5.3L and my check engine light just came on. Took to autozone and got it scanned and it said there were 2 knock sensors bad with low frequency. I was just wondering how severe this is and should I take it to a mechanic to fix it or is it a relatively easy thing to fix. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

well i took it to the dealer this morning and they covered it under warranty. Also, I have always had a clunking noise in the steering wheel when turning or going over bumps, I thought it was just normal. The dealer heard it when they test drove it and replaced the I-shaft in the steering column. I didn't even ask them to. Thank God for honest people, good to know since I have 35,823 miles on the truck and the warranty will be up by tomorrow lol.

Good for you. Glad the dealer helped you with the intermediate steering shaft as well.
