Hey guys/gals...
Noob Chevy owner here...
I've joined and introduced myself in the New Member Forum and thought I would ask my first Suburban tech question....
I recently purchased a'03 suburban and although its in really good condition, there are some leaks that I need to take care of soon. I've been working on Jeeps for a while and have good mechanical knowledge, however, I have never owned a GM vehicle before, let alone an IFS vehicle.
The first two leaks that I can see are the transmission pan seal, which looks pretty straight forward, and a leak coming from the driver side near the differential. It's not the actual pumpkin thats leaking, it looks like the leak is coming from where the transaxle(is this the correct term) enters the diff itself. I've bought the Hayne's manual for the Suburban, but it doesn't do a good job on describing where this leak maybe coming from.
So my question to you is, is this a axle shaft seal leak? If it is how hard would it be to replace it?
Thanks,
Chris
