    Default 6.0L Vortec...16.7 MPG

    Hey everyone,

For anyone considering buying a 6.0L Vortec 2500HD, I just got home from the Candian border (Blaine, WA) and took I-5 to Edmonds, WA. When I filled up in Edmonds, I used 5.4 gallons to go 90.2 miles. which works out to about 16.7 MPG. I was happy with this number. Hope this helps for anyone wondering.

A friend of mine has an 06 HD 1500 with the 6.0 and 4.11's. He can't get above 12 mpg on the highway. My Dad's 05 Denali has the 6.0 with 3.73's and he gets up around 20 on the highway.

Yeah, I've heard that the 4.11's are no good for MPG's.

That's great mileage for the 6.0. With a few minor mods you could be pushing 20. The best I am getting right now is 19 with my Duramax 2500HD on 35's.
