    Default anybody know about cams in new silverados???

    hey yall i was thinking about putting a cam in my 2004 z71 it has dual flowmasters, cold air intake, edelbrock headers, and a hypertech max energy tuner.ive always wanted to put a cam in it but i dont know what kind i should get or how much it would cost for labor to get it installed.it has a 5.3 liter

    Well u would all the upper end gaskets..
    how many miles?
    i might as well get new oil pump too since you would remove it to get to the cam anyway...

    also a good time to upgrade lifters and springs

    and rockers if you want...

    U would want a cam with a short duration to keep the low end torque...

    u would benifit alot from a custom tune and long tubes...over the hypertech and shorty since the factory nmanifolds are close to shorty already...

    u wanting to run stock heads..

    what kinda of powerbadn you looking for?
