Installing a newer dash in an older truck?

OK, so I'm the pround new owner of this 1988 Silverado C2500 that will be a project truck and had a crazy thought: is it possible to put a dash from a newer truck (say, 1995 or newer) in place of the original '88 dash? I just like the look of the newer dash better...Anyone ever attemptd this before?

never done it personally, but im sure with enough retrofitting and maybe some extra drilled holes you could do it. I wouldnt unless you have a wiring genious with you cause i highly doubt it will be plug and play

OK, so it is a crazy idea but I do love a challenge! Can anyone tell me what the best source of wiring diagrams for 1988 and 1994 or newer would ne?

There is a guy who makes an adapter to connect a '95 dash to your '88 truck. I forget where I read about him and it has been a couple of years ago but I seem to remember that there were only 5 bolts that held the whole dash in the truck and his harness connector was like $30 ish dollars.
