Alright, well. My brother's once beautiful 03 Silverado, isn't exactly..... Beautiful anymore.
He was working in upstate NY over night, and was on his way home at 7 this morning, and nodded off to sleep, after finishing off a cup of coffee. These first two pictures are before the accident, the next set are after it. The truck isn't completely totaled, but it's going to cost in upwards of 6 grand to fix it.

The truck is semi-fine, and the driver is absolutely fine. According to the insurance comapny, it's going to cost almost $7,000 to fix the truck, but it's worth it, this truck is a strong runner, 104,000 miles, and 1 accident later, it still runs like it left the assembly line.

Good to hear your brother is alright. Looks like a lot of cosmetic fixes so hopefully it will be as before.
That nodding off to sleep is a bad deal. Can't count the times I've caught myself with drooping eyelids while on the road.

OUCH!!! I'm glad your brother is alright. The truck looks rough, but at least it is fixable!

Yeah. I've caught myself doing it too. And I never knew the hell I'd put my mother and brother through by doing it until it happened to him, and I got scared out of my mind. Now I know how they felt the countless times I've done it and come close to wadding my truck up like this.
As far as I can see, it's just a hood, fender, bumper, both doors, and a bed skin, and a new tire, but the figure the insurance company came up with, includes a hood, door, bumper, both doors, a whole new bed, and a tire and aluminum wheel.
If you look in uhhhh the 3rd and 4th pictures down in the wrecked photos (the close ups of the bumper) you can see the imprint of a "No U-Turn" sign from the highway. That damage was done after hitting a guardrail, and road signs at 65 mph.
He had just finished off his coffee, set the cruise at 65, and next thing he knows, he gets woke up by the truck skidding towards the median, and mowing down the signs. But thank God he's alright. He's got a son graduating in June, and a daughter graduating in 2-3 years. And hopefully the day my daughter graduates she'll have her uncle there to watch her do so. I pray to God he learns from this mistake, and decides not to work any more 80-85 hour weeks, and learns to get some rest.

could have been alot worse... you could have hit something head on!... glad eveything is fixable and that everyone is alright... good luck fixin her up
Thanks a ton guys, I'll forward the good wishes to him. He says that when he woke up, and the truck was sliding sideways, and starting to spin 360 degrees, it was like back in the day when we ran the b-mod and he'd wreck it and flat spot with side of it, and spin around, he jokes about it now, but he was kinda pissed when it first happened. Yeah the truck is 100% fixable, mainly because he didn't blow the bags because he hit nothing head-on except the road signs, and they weren't enough to kick the sensor to blow the bags.

I too can say I've been extremely lucky in the past, as I've been in the same shape as far as driving when I was too sleepy to do it. The bad part is I knew it when I got behind the wheel that I was drowsy (it just wasn't my time to have an accident). Glad he didn't get injured!
