I own a Chevy Silverado 4x4 5.3 (2007). Ever since I bought it, this little problem has been annoying me. While at idling the engine jerks...gently, but it jerks. I was under the assumption that a big V8 would idle so smoothly that it would feel like the engine is off.
I even bothered to listen to the exhaust and I could hear these hiccups now and them randomly. It does not feel like it is running smoothly.
Another way to notice is when the truck is stop with the drive on. If I release the brakes a little bit, I could feel like the whole truck jerking forward.
Does anybody knows what could be causing this?
Any way to fix it?
Thanks in advance.

im not exactly sure .. that new of a pickup should not be having any idiling issues .
could you possibly have gotten ahold of some bad gas?
sorry i could not be more helpfull

Well...I am pretty sure that most people out there wouldn't even notice this problem. As I said, it jerks very gently, but I am very picky with my cars, and this jerking is annoying me, mostly because it is a brand new truck with only 8,000 miles on it....beside the amount of money I paid for it.
I wouldn't expect this truck to do that.

You might be supprised..
I understand its alot of $ and shoould not be having any idiling issues.
Have you tried taking it to the dealer?

This might help but I'm not sure. I used to own a 96 Monte Carlo Z34 it had the "X" motor in it. Not a good Motor. But every 20000 miles or so we would have the same symptoms that you are. It was GM's fabulous 100000 mile spark plug wires. One wire would start breaking down and would intermittenly fire in the cylinder. Finally the wire would completely fail and we would run on 5 cylinders. This is very noticable. It happened 5 times. Each time the dealership would replace the wires and then another would go. They said that "they" could only put GM parts on. Finally I gave in and bought some high end wires and the problem never came back.
I would bring it to the dealership and have them look into it. The warranty should cover it. Our extended one did. If it truly is the same issue by some better spark plug wires later on. I hope it is that easy of a fix.

Well, I will definitely will take it to the dealer, but I want to know as much as I can about what could be causing this and how to fix it before I go and face them.
I don't have very good experiences with dealers. I feel like they don't know very well their own techology...I have a BS in mechanical engineering and a while ago worked for 5 years as an auto mechanic, so I know a little bit about it.
You wouldn't believe the things I have heard from some of technicians (Supposedly some of the best...trained directly by GM).

Yeah if you were to Google "scam artist" I'm sure it would come up with all the links for Car dealer Service centers.
I was fortunate in my situation. I had a family member at the dealership. He was the only one I let touch my car.

When you take it to the dealer, have the fuel system tested, especially the fuel pressure regulator. The regulators have a history. If it won't hold a constant pressure, might want to have them replace it. FYI
Dyma,
I am having similar issues with an 08 Silverado same sized engine but 2WD. Did you ever figure out what the issue was?
