While driving my 01 Silverado yesterday, I noticed a shutter or grabbing feel to the truck when slowly accelerating from a stop. It felt like someone grabbed the rear bumper twice when accelerating from 0 to 25mph. This is the second time this has happened in a month and need to know if I should check the transmission or differential or what. There are no MIL's or stored codes. Where do I start with the diagnosis?

One of the first things I might look at would be brakes. If you have rear drums, pull the drums and make sure the hardware looks good. Lube caliper slide pins on disk brakes. Check all around for kinks in brake hoses that would prevent the brakes from releasing cleanly. Check the parking brake that it releases properly.

I have the same symptoms on my 02 Avalanche. I just haven't had the time to look at it. It doesn't happen all the time only occaisionally. I will hopefully get to it this weekend. I will keep you posted on my findings.
