I have an 04 silverado. When shifting into second gear, it's kinda rough. It will shift, then almost around half a second later it lurches from the rear end.
Also, when I first start the truck, put it in to drive and start moving, when it shifts into first, I hear a sort of sliding/clunking "gulp" noise, and it is felt mildly in the gas pedal as well as being somewhat audible.
I am getting the slip yoke and u-joints replaced next week....
Any ideas?

Anyone? Got a new nickle plated slip yoke installed... helped a little but it's still there...

Sounds sorta like what's going on with my truck. Rear end clunks as if it's "catching up" with the rest of the truck when I take off. Also when it's cold, the first-to-second shift seems rough.

I think the tranny is on the way out hoss. Sorry to tell you but it's similiar to my 95 f150.
