Well it is news, we're not a political website, but I respect the office ... even if I do / do not agree with the person in it. I was just deflated knowing it's harder for someone like me to run a side business knowing that I'll be helping to "spread the wealth" around.

    * This is ok for this one topic, if you're not a good and polite debater and can't leave it in the thread, then go to another thread. Some folks just need to vent sometimes.

Well, Barack Obama certainly did run a very good campaign. I think he's smart and quick on his feet. While I don't agree with a lot of what he believes, he was elected in what looks to be a large enough margin to assure it was a fair election. (Granted, they don't do IQ tests when giving out registration cards, and I'm sure there will be some voter fraud reported, all you gotta be is 18 and a citizen to vote.)

There will be change, that's for sure. The war in Iraq will end earlier I'm sure, much to the disappointment of the Iraqi people who want us there, not sure what that will do to the region, but it will probably settle down over time all things being equal. The tax rate will change, socialized medicine will be on the way in some form, probably will be more restrictions on guns ... I'm not saying anything that people don't already know.

I'm a working-class man. I make right at 40K a year, I own a gun. Nothing about the new socialist government is good for me or the country. I don't want to give 60% of my paycheck up so that a ton of porch-sitters that are too lazy to work can continue to roll around in cars with a 10KW sound system and 24s. Looks like I might be heading up to Canada or something...
