Hi Guys,
I have few laboratories working for car manufacturers in Turkey, especially with Toyota, Honda and Isuzu. Until now I really didn't know that Isuzu was the producer for Chevy diesel engines.
From this side of the world, all I can tell is that most manufacturers are cutting down the size of all cars; smaller, more compact and cheap energy consumption is a priority.
When I used to live in US, and when the gallon hit the 1 dollar mark, we were all surprised but nowadays I hear you guys are getting slowly closer to what we pay: 8 USD a gallon!!!
My chevy BelAir fills up for about 150 USD; and yes, this is true. Interestingly, diesel was almost half the price of unleaded but now since last year, it closed the gap. I am searching for a 09 Silverado 6.6 diesel, and the reason I want diesel is not b/c it is slightly cheaper, its engine produces more torque so I can load the truck with our search and rescue equipment and go for missions: we are in major earthquake zone.

So dear friends; consider yourselves lucky.

Thanks for the info'! The diesels will be showing up here in the next few model years, I just wish they would put one in the smaller pickups. The price variance here is still over a dollar per gallon more for diesel. Doesn't make a lot of sense, but I don't see many wind generators on trucks! Good luck!
