    Cool Smell when DPF regenerates?

    Has anyone with the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) noticed a rubber / petrolium oil type of smell comming from their trucks. I got home from fishing tonight and could smell something that was burnt. I was only on the highway for about twenty minuets or so. I know that this is not enough time for the regeneration but I have never smelt this before. Any ideas? There is nothing touching the exhaust or evidence of melted rubber. I also thought the motor was runnging a little higher idle.

    pro bally in a "regin"(spelling? forgot what its called)

    where it will 'clean' out the dpf
