I just picked up a 1999 GMC suburban (SLE, 4wd). Last few days it's been getting colder (25 degrees this morning). When cold, shifting into drive from park takes a couple seconds, and it fairly rough. Once it warms up, the trans shifts into D just fine.
This vehicle was my parents before I bought it, and I've driven it off and on over the past 6 years (since my dad bought it) and I can't remember it shifting into gear this hard before. It has 96k miles on it. Is this just a symptom of it getting older+colder, or should I worry about it?
Thanks!
well i have a 91' (so not sure if it makes a difference) but here it was in the single digits the other morning (on a new tranny) and that bitch dropped into gear so hard my tires barked backwards and the whole truck bout damn near died. it's quite possible mines just ****..but sounds like possible normal wear and tear
