    Cool trans. fluid change

    I have a 2003 Silverado 2500 HD 4x2 6.0L ext. cab 4-dr. w/A.T. - 75,959 miles
Any opinions on changing AT fluid that's still original since new ??
I want my trans. to last as long as possible, as everyone else does I suspect.
At the same time, there are stories/myths/laws about not touching fluid after so many original miles.
I tow travel trailer (5500#) about 6x a yr. I drive about 30-35 mi. per day. No lead foot here. Northern IL is my residence. What's my best bet. Thanks for any help !!

Take it somewhere and get the trans flushed and you'll be good to go for another 75000.

If your towing it isn't bad to change it once a year..personal preference I guess.

yeah, I like to think about the time the guy working there flushed the power steering fluid instead of the trans fluid...good times.

Why not take it to a professional who wont kill your trans for you.

Change it... It wont make your trans fail.

I would change the filter and add the 6 quarts in the trans and then take it to be flushed if you do not want to pull a line and flush into bucket yourself. Then for the $22.00 change the filter again after the flush service. I would never let a tranny go that long with out servicing it. Then again the heat out here is rough on vehichles.

I have changed mine once already and plan on doing it once a year. I tow a trailer and I plow with my truck. Have to take care of it if you want it to take care of you. Its not cheap but the other option costs a hole lot more.
