Ok guys, I asked about getting a 2 inch lift on my truck on another thread and someone suggested I get a 2 inch leveling kit. I'm pretty inexperienced when it comes to lifts and I don't know what a leveling kit is or what it it would do for me. I googled leveling kits and it gives me front leveling kits. so you only raise the front end? or are there rear leveling kits too? If you do only raise the front end, how would the truck look with the back end a little lower than the front? Thanks for any time you spend helpin me out.

Tlhe reason that you only find "front" leveling kits is that most pickups sit considerably lower in the front or higher in the rear, depending on how you look at it. This is so that if there is a load in the bed it will come closer to leveling out the truck as opposed to having the front setting high. Some kits I've seen offer 2 to 2.5" lift for the front and a "block" or add a leaf for the rear to make sure it is level and not higher on one end than the other. I hope this makes sense. Good luck!

Yeah, if you want to go up, add a leveling kit in the front. If you want to go down, put a leveling kit (drop kit) on the rear. This is why a lot of drop kits are 2/4 or 4/6 drops because of the difference in height front to rear on your truck stock.

would cranking the torsion bars be just as good as just installing the leverling kit?

not quite. You probably won't get as much of a gain as you would from a leveling kit (although you do get a decent amount) and your ride quality will suffer some. Also you will need to get an alignment if you crank the torsion bars.

How hard is a leveling kit on your balljoints and front end compared to if you just left it stock?
