Kinda new here. Bought a '03 1500 hd about a month ago and was wondering what the the best way to level the truck? I've noticed that the front sits quite lower than the back. Also, any suggestions for improved gas mileage would be great. Already have aftermarket Magnaflow split rear exhaust and tonneau cover. Was considering a chip, but no idea about what to get. Any and all replies much appreciated.
Thanks,
phil

welcome!
Glad to have you!
I would recomed Daystar coil spring spacers.
I got mine for 140.00 they instaled in about an hour.
You can get a KN air intake (stage 2) to get your HD breating better.
I Will be getting the Superchips Flashpaq which will give you better milage (if you can keep your foot out of it)![]()

Welcome to the site!
In case your HD is a 4X4, look at torsion bar keys for leveling the front.

Welcome to the forum! There are tons of posts on here about cranking the torsion bars and leveling kits. Here is a link to more info on torsion bars that was posted by another member. http://www.avowners.com/forum.idc?sh...s&TID=870&PN=1
Hope this helps!![]()

I have the hypertech max energy programmer myself. It's a pretty nice piece of equipment to have. It reprograms your computer with software that is dyno tuned for your vehicle for more efficient engine operation over all. You can modify your engine and drivetrain paramaters like increasing or decreasing your transmission shift firmness, rev limiter, you can also tell the computer if you're running larger tires so it can calibrate your speedo to read correctly. I noticed some HP increase but not sure about MPG gains. get the Hypertech if you can drop about 350 bucks.

Welcome.
For what its worth, I run the Hypertech performance program on my '05 5.3L and I noticed very minimal power gains. The only place I noticed anything was at wide open throttle as the engine accelerates through 4000 RPM's where it does "pull" a little harder. The benefits of this programmer are found in the ability to adjust for tire size, gearing, and shift firmness. Also nice is the removal of top speed and rev limiters as the 323 engine likes to rev. So don't expect tire-melting power from the programmer. If straight horsepower and mpg is what you want, then I would spend the money on headers to compliment your exhaust. I think the difference will be more noticeable there. Or, as someone else mentioned, an intake (which would be a cheaper route).

is your truck 2wd or 4wd? with 2wd trucks they have coil springs and you can use a spacer, with 4wd you can crank the torsion bars.
Also, fill out your sig so we know a little more about your truck![]()
