    Default 3/4 ton autoride shocks

I have a 2001 3/4 ton that has the autoride shocks on it. Best I have learned is the autoride option for this year just helps with shock valving and nothing to do much with ride height. I could be wrong on that. I have almost 130K on it now and a couple of them show signs that they are leaking fluid out of them so I've been seeing about replacing them. What I can't seem to find is whether it's worth keeping these shocks just for the overall ride quality or just put on some good aftermarket ones see that there's just a slight difference in price.

i am not sure about the Auto Ride

If you choose the aftermarket shocks I would reccomend Rancho shocks.
    They are great shocks!

Well I thought about the Ranchos just cause they have those that are adjustable and that can give me about the same as the factory I suppose. Is there anything that would have to be disable so there wouldn't be any lights that come on or sensors to unplug?

most of that depends on what you are trying to get out of it ride wise. if you like the factory ride then go back with factory style replacements. I highly recommend you look for them on Ebay though they are much cheaper there. if however you would like a stiffer ride you might check into a good after market replacement. Monroe and Minieke make really good replacement sets. I personally wanted a stiffer ride, more performance in the curves and better hauling support so I went with a set of Load adjusting coil over shocks in the back (monroe) and a set of Max Control (monroe) in the front. I still have a plenty enough smooth ride but it handles much better in the sharp curves and when I haul anything on my car hauler with it the thing still sits level even when i loaded up my wife's much larger and heavier suburban.

Read over these threads and if I can answer any questions for you please let me know. There is life after Autoride.
