Talking new burb owner...... gotta question

first of all..... great site and info here

just bought a burb recently and needs a little repair from the normal milage wear but other than that its great.

did a couple things already but now i gotta do the rear dif...... getting the usual wine/howl sound for the rear end which ive researched is pretty normal for the g80 with 100k +

havent opened it up but sure sounds like the bearings...... so without me opening it up until im ready to change it, would i be able to get away with just the bearings and races change or is it pretty common that the gears get damaged by the time you can actually hear the bearings are bad.

dont hear any type of clunking like if the gears are broken or bad but im sure i wont know for sure until i open it up. i was just hopeing i can get away with just a bearing kit or something

thanks for any help and or advise

Just check the fluid level first, it could be low. Trying the cheap solutions first is sometimes, just not always, the cure to the problem.

Welcome to the site! I would start with the bearings first and go from there.
