Need advice on wiring driving lights on a 06 Suburban 2500. Are there any accessorie fuse positions available in the system and how would you intigrate a switch into the light circut ?

I prefer to wire driving lights directly to the battery with an inline fuse. I use a bosch relay triggered by a dash mounted toggle switch. This is my fav:

Mine has 2 positive power posts near the driver side battery. If you have the 2 power posts one may be uncoated and the other may be blackish - they are both HOT, not one is negative. Be sure to wire in your own fuse.

I would go the relay route. It should be simple enough to find the wire the headlights use that supply the DRL. It would seem as simple, to me, to just tap into that wire to control a relay. Here's how I would wire it up:
Find the wire to the headlights that operate the DRL. Tap into that wire, and have that go to the + post of a relay. Ground the other side of the relay. You can most likely do that all in the front part of the truck - behind the bumper, or on the inside or wherever you have room out of the way.
Now, bring a power (+) wire from the battery down to the relay's switch terminal. Have the 'out' from there go to both (positive) leads of your driving lights. Ground the (negative) wires.
Make sure to put an inline fuse (preferably not one of the round glass ones, but the regular automotive spade type) right somewhere below the battery. Just for caution's sake, I would also put one between the DRL and the relay, nearer the DRL connection.
What will happen then is... the DRL get switched on automatically, which trips the relay ON which then completes the circuit from the battery through the relay to the driving lights.
Let me know if that's what you wanted!
Thanks Springthing, that sounds like it. I only need to add a switch in there, so I can power on or off the driving lights as wanted. Thanks for the advice.![]()

N/p, and the switch is an easy add. It's just a matter of running a long wire to the cab. Instead of the one wire that goes from the DRL to the relay, have it go all the way to the cab, through a switch, then to the relay.
Good luck.
