    Default Been looking at lifts

okay so i've been looking at lifts for my truck but i want to find out more before i really start getting knee deep into this. for everyone that has 6" lifts what are you getting for mpg's?? i want to lift it but going from like 20mpg to say 10mpg i may just keep my truck at stock height.

Darcy has a duramax tho. It probably makes a big difference between the gas motors

call down to the local 4 wheel parts. They give acurate informtion. They are having an additional 20% off. The best pro comp 6" suspension (normally 2600) is for about 1800 before install. Thats probably the one I'm ging with in about three months or so. Although we have different trucks the lift on't be too much off price wise.

Mine was around $2600 installed. I do get 17-20mpg because I have a diesel, and because I use a programmer To calibrate my speedo and adjust shift points as well as boost performance.

Changing gear ratio's is one way to have better mileage with a lift, but so much more expensive than buying a programmer.

It also depends on what size tire you go with. If you run 35's on a 6 inch lift with stock gears you will see a drop in performance and gas mileage.

Well I do have 20" stocks on my truck and kinda wanna keep them. not sure if i want to run 33-35 tires on it yet. I'm guessing regearing it will be a need on it if i do lift it.

I would do more research on your 20" stock wheels because with a suspension lift it will require new knuckles and unless yours will have the proper backspacing, you may have to replace them. Cunsult your local tire/suspension shop and they should be able to give you the answer.
