i am looking for some new tires for my 2000 chevy silverado, stepside, regular cab Z-71. I drive on ice & snow for about 4 months every year, i don't do much offroad with the truck just some gravel roiads occasionally in the summer. Also having a short wheelbase makes the ride stiff to begin with. Any sugestion on a tire that handles well and is not overly stiff. I have bfg at's now and they have weathercracked terribly. Tire pressure is not the cause of this, i check it weekly.
any suggestions would be great.
thanks

Welcome to the site! It sounds like an all-terrain tire would fit your needs. I would reccomend Toyo A/T's. I have used these on my Silverado before switching to Toyo mud terrains but my wife has them on our 2001 Suburban and they track very well in the ice and snow. I have used BFG A/T's on my Blazer and they work well and have a more aggressive pattern than the Toyo's.

I think the Toyo's would be a great choice but Cooper ATR's are a nice tire as well.
