New problem.... I've changed the front brakes without problem, but low and behold I go to do the rear set and as luck would have it the bolts have torx heads...minor set back, the real problem is that I can't get my air rachet with the torx head between the bolt head and the leaf spring. Any ideas on how I can do this without removing the springs?

Sorry Kenny, I have an 06 2500HD but have not had to touch the brakes with only 31k on my truck. I did read this on one of my diesel sites I frequent. hope it helps....
Pins and caliper bracket bolts are a pain to get loose. Pins take a torx t-55. I had to use a pipe wrench and a t-55 in a socket to get the top ones loose. The bottom one needed a cheater on a 1/2 ratchet. The bolts holding the caliper bracket have some type of lock tight on them and are very hard to break loose. Once loose they take a wrench all the way out. The rotors were tight. I used a pry bar and a 16 oz ball pean. Pry, hit a few times, turn rotor 1/4 and repeat. I takes a few revolutions to get the rotor off. All of my pads looked fine. I still cant find the chatter mine makes when braking. Used a dial caliper on rotors, at most .005 out.

Use a regular ratchet?
I tried a regular rachet...still to tight to get a rachet in between the bolt head and the spring

Do you have a torx that sticks out 3" or is the issue that you have limited room for the torx?

A swivel and extension with the T-55 socket after you have broken lose? First time remvoing these?
dwill3015 is right, after the initial breakage, then you can use the swivel and Ext.....The air as well.
