Thread: Differential question
12-11-2008, 07:52 PM #1
I have an 03 GMC Sierra 2wd with an open differential that I absolutely HATE. Im sure every one knows with these you have the famous "one wheel wonder", one tire spinning faster than the other problem - normally the right tire. I am wanting to get a locking differential from somewhere. Not positive to where I should get one or where I should have it done? Just curious if anyone has put a locking differential in a 2wd sierra like mine? Does any one have any ideas to what I should do about getting a posi in my truck? Any help is appreciated.

I would personally start searching junk yards for a differant rear spool. tell the guy your situtation he may be able to get a limited slip spool and you won't have to pay $350-500 for a detroit locker.

I've put in quite a few. They are available everywhere. I would post a link to a good supplier but it might conflict with a advertiser here, so I wont.
Actually I think FLAPS sells them in common applications like yours.
Setting it up takes a little luck or some knowledge/experience.
