    Default Suburbans on ICE!

What are you guys running your tire pressure at? I have a 98 Suburban and put some Blizzaks on it for the big snow we have right now. I would like to hear your experience with tire pressures for driving in the snow.

    Thanks,

    Ed

Where there is snow there is ice so the best tire pressure is what gives the tred it's full potential. Lowering tire pressure allows the tread to close creating a slippery surface on ice. I put 35psi in my Tahoe with 255/70R/16's Bf Goodriches Land terrain and run them all winter in all conditions.

20psi for deep snow helps the truck sit on top of the snow rather than sinking to the bottom.

We don't get a great deal of snow, but it gets slick here pretty regularly. I run the stock 35 psi in all of my vehicles. So far my experience with the Suburban is that it gets great traction as far as getting moving goes, but I'm having to get used to stopping, cornering, and descending hills in something that's so much heavier than what I'm accustomed to driving. Using the gearing to slow down and keeping the speeds low seem to be the key to those issues.
