I would like to know if any members here have been hassled for having HID's because I have not. I researched that question a bit and came up with this comment from another forum which pretty much sums it up.

Yes, they are illegal TO A POINT. Can a Cop give you a Ticket for having them? Yes, if they are REALLY that bored. BUT...if you have some common sense, you can have HID's and not get hassled by the Cops at all.

    How do you do this?

Well...first off, don't be a damn Ricer and order 8000k or higher Bulbs. Stick with between 4000k-6000k and a Cop won't even look twice at you. Second...RE-AIM THE DAMN LIGHTS WHEN YOU PUT IN THE HID'S!! Don't think you can just throw the Kit in there and leave everything As-Is. Third, if the above things are followed, an Inspection Shop isn't going to question the HID's unless they are REALLY bored also, because the Color Temp will look Factory, and they prob. won't even notice.

I ran 6000K's on my truck and did not have any problems. Definitely re-aim them esp. on a lifted truck and stick with the 4500k-6000k like it said in the comment. So many cars and trucks come with factory HID's anymore.
