Angry The things you really didnt want to do.....

this thread is all about the things you really didnt want to do but had to because of an outside influence wether it be a wife, husband, kin, or boss. yes this is the season for giving but some ppl really take things over boar when its a requirement to do this or that or go here or there well heres mine:

The past few days I was ORDERED to go to (2) christmas partys one for my company the other was Regiment wide, I didnt mind the Regiment wide party, but the company party was supposed to be a gift exchange by secret santa, so of course i drew someone i didnt like very much my luck as it is, and go to this party where everyone is being nice and acting all lovey dovey when in actuality these ppl are complete a$$holes, threating their junior marines like slaves and toys to mess with, and treating us the senior marines like we just got in yesterday, the best word to describe it is a bunch of two faced kids that got in charge. i may partly be rambling but im sure someone else wants to vent too. by the way i got my secret santa person a poker set which he didnt deserve and a no speeding sticker and a Warning ticket for expired registration he know is was me cus im the only MP in that company HAHA

Yep, This year I actually enjoyed the Mens Christmas dinner because the Senior nco's on officers feed me.

But we had a small party here at the unit that was 'highly reccomended' that we attend.. It was largely an officer wine and cheese thing. Stuffy and old fashoined.. Ugh.. I didnt want to go there for fear of shooting off my mouth and ending up in cells.

Things I didnt want to do, but had too...

Fighting in a custody battle for my wifes, sisters kids. My sister in law is a bonehead so were fighting to keep her 3 kids in the family, but childrens aid keeps running interference...

Anything through the Ontario courts is like a dentist visit.. Generally slow, annoying and painful.

Unfortunately if your gonna stay in the Military you'll have to get used to making apearances at functions you would rather not attend. If you think you got it bad talk to one of the JO's or WO's (especially WO's). When I went Enlisted to Officer I never did get happy about attending the monthly Officers & Wives social.

It's my turn this year to have my mother in law for Xmas, she arrives tomorrow and leaves the following Monday.
But to be fair in 20 years of marriage she's come to visit 8 Xmas's and I was deployed 6 of them, who say's deployment aint a good thing.
She has'nt liked me (and is vocal about it at times) since I moved her daughter away from her 19 years ago. Before that I was the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Did you have to do a car wash to raise funds for the mandatory fun nights? Thats wat we had to do at Camp LeJeune. Then the mandatory fun nights only got good after a few rounds of the rum punch.
I drove by my old MCRD barracks at Edison Range on this last Tuesday at 0600. Good to see the lights were all on!!! Hey things could be worse. A few years ago my buddy and I were on stand by over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I had Chicken and Rice MRE for Cristmas Dinner, he had Spaghetti. Good times.

Good luck man the last time i spent more time than needed with IN-laws I got drunk at the neighbors, came home, fought with their daughter and pissed in their bed then got up and had a "morning after beer" on the deck. After daddy finished picking up the unforsaken cigarette butts off the lawn, he said she deservered better than that. She thought it was the funniest thing she ever seen and if she hadn't stopped me I would have slept Naked on their couch.
