I just bought a CLEAN 1983 K20 with a 5.7L 350 and a Hydro Turbo 350, Proble is went out to start it today and the accelerator cable came out of the pedal. At least I am pretty sure that is what happened little cable connecting to the very top of the pedal. Is there a quick fix for this or do I need to replace the cable. Also at the same time the cable came out a mysterious little plastic cylindar appeared on the floor do this have anything to do with the cable. The cylindar is about an inch long and about 1/2 inch in diameter, with a smaller hole all the way through it. Please help me this is the only means of transportation I have

There should be a way to reclip the cable to the pedal. Back the seat up as far as you can, get down there and try to reconnect it. I have not seen a cable attatched to the top of a pedal, normally they are in the middle and usually a rod type connection. Hope this helps.
