Question CD's stuck in CD Player!

    Hey guys,

So I recently replaced the battery on my Yukon and now noticed that my 6-disc (factory) in dash CD player says there are no discs in it, when I know that all 6 slots are full! I'm not sure if this was happening before the battery replacement or not, but I know it was working about a month ago at least.

It will not eject (just says there's nothing in there to eject) and yet, if you hit "Load" nothing happens. So, while it thinks its empty, it does know its full but seems to have gotten confused.

Is there a way to reset this thing or something like that? How do I get the CD's out? Has anyone had a similar issue? Thanks!

try disconnecting it again and see what happens otherwise leave the battery connected and pull the deck from the dash and reconnect it, or look in the owners manual for a reset of some sort, you shouldnt disconnect the battery with discs in the cd player, more often I have heard of this happening

I just have a regular cd player in my 05 silverado and it got struck and wouldn't eject. What I did was pull the dash off and pulled out the radio and unplugged it for about ten minutes. When you plug it back in the cd player should reset and spit out the cd's. I don't know if it is the same for a cd changer but it is worth a shot, worked for a regular cd player

Agreed. If anything, and to make it easier, may just want to unplug the battery for a while, have a hot cup of coffee, then go back and plug the battery back up.

It just seems that electrical hiccups like that get fixed just by the battery disconnect trick. If you luck out with that then I'd shoot for the CD disconnect and reconnect.

I've never played with stock radios/CD players too much but it seems there should be a way to manually 'pop' the disks out somehow. A switch, a reset button in the back, etc etc.

Good luck and let us know what happens!

Thanks for the responses, guys. I tried disconnecting the battery yesterday and then went to town with my brother. Coming back a couple of hours later, no go. CD's still stuck.

So, I will try removing the player itself next when I get the truck back home where it is warmer than here at the in-laws in breezy Saskatchewan! I'll let you guys all know when I try this if it works. Otherwise, thank goodness for iPods! At least I can make new CD's of the albums I lost....

Has anyone figured this one out? I have the same problem in my 04 Suburban. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting it with no luck. I pulled the unit out and took the top plate off. I can see the CDs inside but I cant get them out. There seems to be som mechanism blocking the opining. Has anyone been able to take the CD part of the unit out?
