First Chevy
Just bought my first chevy about a month ago. I just finished school and thought I would treat myself to my first vehicle with less than 90,000 miles. Bought an 08 Silverado:
-5.3 V8
-2WD
-Ext Cab
-After market leather
-Texas Edition (20'', dual climate control, etc...)
-Spray in bed liner
Plans for the new truck: debadging, color match chevy bowtie on grill, tailgate, and wheel covers, (and perhaps steering wheel), leveling kit (2'' rear drop), chip, window tint, grill, intake, exhaust
Concerns:
-Break in mileage, oil change intervals during break in
Changed at 750 miles and will change at 3,000. Next oil change? Oil life meter realistic?
-Camper Shell, taneau, toolbox?
Trying to decide what fits my needs the best.

For accessories I would fit to what you need/want, oil change... the computer is pretty close to 3000 under normal conditions, if you are doing alot of short trips, it has you change it more often. I like them and think they are accurate. As for your first oil change, check out the owners manual and see what it says.

Hey! Welcome to the site. I too have an 08 silverado. As far as the oil changes go, I usually do mine at 5,000 miles. The engine oil life shows about 40% at about 5,000 miles on my truck.

Sounds like you already changed the oil after 750 miles, it should be broke in by now and be just fine.
I did not read the owners manual untill after I had already driven my 03 Silverado so it got broke in like I drive normally. No problems so far at 76000 miles.
