overhead garage door opener. Wiring??

Hi

I just got a door that will fit and replace one in the overhead console on my Suburban.It is, I think, an early version of the Homelink garage door opener. It has two wires coming put of it, an orange and a purple with a white stripe. Does anyone know what these hook up to?

I have been in contact with the dealer about trying to get one installed on my truck. I hear 2 things.
1. There has to be a wiring harness in the ceiling of my cab (which I dont have but can be added in a couple of hours)
2. One has recently been done and it will not open the garage door for which it was intended. No clue why possibly an old gargae door opener technology - possibly not.
