01 gmc sierra 1500

Hey guys, i just picked up an 01 sierra 1500 4x4. Love this truck, i think it's got the 5.3 votec. Not sure, new to chevy/gm....Any how, i just wanted to know is there any way i can help it be a little more fule efficient. I haven't check to see if the fule and air filters have been change yet...but yeah, is there any other thing that i can do to help. Oh yea, I do know that it has a big motor and all.

If you wanted to you could always add a programmer to it, i know alot of the other people in here use the Hypertech and have had good sucess. You could always do exhaust, headers, high flow cats, but im not sure how much your willing to spend.

Take a stroll through the Performance thread and read up on Aftermarket intakes, exhaust, programmers and such as they all help with added performance as well as a little extra MPG.

Cool, i'd never thought that putting on aftermarket parts would help with mpg. I also never knew about promgrams that can help too....this is good. I'm looking at getting a k&n intake. I don't know about the exhaust....I like the truck to have the stock look and to sound stock too.....

My cruise control don't work....what would be the cause? i try every possible way i can think of. the cruise control light does not even come on. will it be best to take it to the local chevy dealership so that can look at it.

well if you want to help out your gas miliage SuperChips made a programmer just for it!
its called the Cortex Programmer so you can check that out and see if you like it
