    Default Timing troubles with my 83

    I just went to time my pick-up today after a major tuneup and was surprised to see that the timing tab was gone. I went and purchased another tab only to find out that just any tab off any 350 chevy truck engine might not work. Is there any validity to this. Or will the one I just bough be fine.

    Just make sure it's for the same size of harmonic balancer.

    a timing tab off an 81 to 86 350 will work. They are timed 4 deg btdc. Make sure you disconnect the vacuum hose from your advance before adjusting the timing.
