Hey people....I have a 2000 Blazer LT with a factory radio. (see pic) The radio has SCV (spped compensated volume) and I can't figger out how to get it to work!I've tried the owner's manual and have had little luck with it!
I know that there is an adjustment dial right below the main volume knob,I''ve turned it, but it doesn''t seem to help. Also....right above the volume (slightly right actually) is a little light indicator that I think MAY have something to do with it. This little light NEVER seems to come on, even when I pop in a cassette or C.D..
Is this litle light an indicator that the SCV is on?
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.....................Rich

that indicator isnt for the SCV my sisters has never been lit either but uit still works, the best way to test it is flip the little SCV lever to the top setting and from a dead stop get up to highway speed quickly or vive versa, if then you cant hear the difference then it most likely isnt working, I can easily tell hers is working

The little light isn't the SCV indicator, it's the Theftlock indicator. The Delco radios (stock GM) have Theftlock to deter theft. Basically, if you rip the radio out and try to hook it up in something else, it will lock itself down and not work. Not really sure how it works, but that's what the light is. It SHOULD blink red when your truck is turned off (and maybe has to be locked too? can't remember how that radio works.
As far as the SCV, my mom's 01 Suburban has that exact radio, and I used to play with it. It's VERY hard to tell whether it's working correctly because it raises the volume on the truck very slightly. AThe way I could tell it was on was to accelerate quickly (like mentioned by vncj96), but make sure your windows are up. When I had my mom's windows down I could never tell. But, I believe the high setting is if you turn the knob all the way down, to the little open circle.
