I have a 2001 Silverado (auto trans), and I like the triangular shifter found in the 07 and up NBS trucks. I am wondering if anyone knows if they use the same mounting technique, as I would like to buy one and install it in my truck.
My theory is this:
- All shifters were the same from 1999-2007(classic)
- The 2006-07 Duramax had the same triangular shifter as the NBS heavy duty trucks
- This should make mounting of that one the same
- To save money on manufacturing, GM would likely use the same mount on all shift levers across the board
- This would make the shift lever mounting the same from 1999-now
Could anyone confirm whether or not the new lever would fit on my truck?
Thanks

i would talk to the dealer and look to get a picture of both years and see what you come up with
2004 chevy silverado "northwest edition" lifted on 35's
1990 cherokee lifted on 32's

I would talk to the dealer as well. The shifter I have also has tap shift, the up or down shift buttons. Make sure if you get a shifter that you get the one that matches what transmission settings you currently have.

Yep, talking with the Parts Dept. at the dealer costs you nothing! They can print out blow ups of your truck and if you have the stamped tranny number they can cross reference with all shifters that it fits. The blow up will also give you an idea of the install, not the steps, but the parts that need to be removed to perform the task......It will also give you a copy for yourself in case you wan to purchase other items...
