08 silverado crew cab 5.3 , replacing my 6.5s and adding 2 subs, powering it up with 2 amps, together they making about 900 watts rms, will my truck power it up fine or do i need to upgrade anything or mod anything?
Also i noticed that at night when my lights are on if i mess with my windows my headlights seem to dim very slighty or maybe even flicker barley noticable but i do notice it when i watch for it? is that normal and does that mean anything as far as needing to upgrade before i add 2 amps?

You SHOULD be able to support those subs just fine with the stock alternator and amp. The windows causing the lights to dim is normal. The window motors pull a good bit of current when they operating, particularly when they stall (like when you hit bottom or top of the window travel. In my car I can watch a 2 volt drop when I move the window at all.

if it is a problem the "Big 3" is an easy way to get a little more power out of your charging system
If you are worried about your lights going dim when you put the screws to the volume you can always get a capacitor (most likley from the same place you got your amps) install it inline between the battery and the fuse on the main powercord feeding your amps. This should eliminate that light flicker just from the power drain of the amps. Like Crawdaddy said thats normal for your lights to do that with the windows and you can even see that with the stock stereo at night if your sitting at a stop light and you have the tunes really cranked. But since you will using the amps to power the stereo the capacitor will take care of that. It's not neccessary but it does help.
it doesnt really matter if the cap is before or after the fuse, but if your going to get a cap you might as well just get a quality second battery instead...much more affective (since caps do more harm then good in most cases) and also it is cheaper
and like i told you today i got that battery you can have for tha cheap if we can make her fit under the hood: http://www.odysseybatteries.com/battery/pc2150.htm
If your running about 900 watts(1 farad for every 1000watts) you should get a power cap and locate it as close to the amp or amps as possible depending on the setup or whatever is pushing the subs.
Thanks for all the replies(whew glad the window thing is normal, yeah thats where i see it is at top or bottom of travel), ah Goodie , glad to see you on here, can't wait to get some mods going on that GMC of yours. yeah well have to check out that battery, although u might need it if u go with any of your setups like in the past in your new truck!

I agree with GOODIE. A battery might be the best thing, after all, there is a nice spot on the 08s to put a second battery. If yours is like mine, your battery is on the passenger side in a bad spot underneath a brace. On the drivers side behind the headlight, there is a perfect spot to put another battery.

A second battery is for when you want to run assessories for extended periods of time with the engine off. A cap will help with the extra power draw for the windows.
