My '99 Silverado 1500 hesitates upon light acceleration. It idles fine, and runs fine under heavy acceleration. Sometimes it will not start right away, but most of the time it starts fine. I replaced the fuel filter, and then the fuel pump. No change. I thought it might be clogged injectors, so when I went to buy injector cleaner at NAPA, the dude said there was a problem with cracking intake manifolds. The plugs have less than 25,000 miles on them. Anyone have an idea?

What motor do you have? I am betting if you change out your intake to an aftermarket one such as a K&N that it will give you better low-end response and no more hesitation. We did this to my Wife's 2001 Suburban w/5.3 and it made a world of difference!

Sorry. It's the 5.3. I've already thrown hundreds of $ at this problem, with no results. I just want the thing to run right. I'd like to know if it's a vacuum leak, clogged injector, etc. Yacolt, Huh? I live in Kelso.

Have you checked the ignition components? Plugs, wires and full distributer. A hairline crack in the wires or distributer rotor can cause all kinds of problems including what you are describing
