by 88 the truck should have had a fuel injected engine with a 700R4 behind it. That 700R4 had a speedo sensor in the tailshaft section that fed converter which then fed the speedo, transmission, cruise control and computer a speed signal. If you hacked out anything in between, you have your issue as to why it's not working. So, you either have to replace/repair the wiring, or you could possibly pull an instrument cluster out of the same bodystyle truck, but older that had a manual speedo cable and retrofit all the associated parts into the transmission and such.

    Hi again
I might have cut out a grounding point some where.
There was a ground that was on the thernostat house that i cut away
I think that might be the problem
I have not cut anything under the car exept for the wires to the gas tank.
I took it away and put a fuelcell on the bed . There it´s a ground wire in that connector but i think that´s for the fuelpump and gasoline meter i have a mec pump on the engine now so i dont use those

Yes that true, but Crawdaddy's right, your probably going to need to return to the old style cable, unless you still have the 700R4 in it, then you will need to step it as it was, with the missing ground from the Thermostat, as that was a part the of the cluster, ignorant as GM can be sometimes...

    Hi
Well i dont realy know what it will end up like.
Im gona narrow the rear end and put in a nerrowed(?) rear axel. And its going down about 4´´ all around
The reason i bought a 4 wd is that in sweden wi have a rule that says that if the car weights more than 2500kg in stock and is 88 or older we dont have any pullotion rules. So mayby i will take all of he frontdrive stuff away , i realy dont know yet.Its going for inspetion next week so i will have to take the blowe of and then put it back after the inspection
So its gona look a bit like a prostreet but shall be just a fun driver
