    Default what transmission do i have?

    I have a 1991 suburban 2500 with 8 lug axles. I am curious to know what transmission i have in the truck. Can someone help me?

    I believe it is a
    4L80E

    This page will help you identify your transmission by the pan on the transmission. You should have a 4L80E in a 2500/ 3/4 ton truck

    That year I would have thought a 700r4 or turbo 400, i didnt think the 4L trannies didnt get into the suburbans until the new body style in 92

    I didn't even catch that it was a 91 Subruban. Yeah, it would probably have a turbo 400 or something as the electronically controlled transmissions wern't introduced in Suburbans until 92.

    My quest goes to th 400 but its hard to tell on an old truck .. i could have been swapt ,

    TH400 either short shaft or long shaft(2wd/4wd). You guys are right the ECT were not until 92....
