Default New thermostat seemed too loose

    94 burb with a 350

Just put a new thermostat in and after I bolted the water neck back on the intake I could stick my finger down inside and move the thermostat around a good bit.

It doesn't seem right to me. Is there suppose to be a rubber gasket that goes around the outside of the thermostat to take up the space?

The way it is.....some coolant can probably leak past the thermostat. It seems to work okay after I started it and left it running.
