Well you could go to the chevy performance catalog @ your local dealer and see what they would recommend for your truck and have then install it But it will cost you. Or try to find a shop that specializies in chevy rebuilds and let them install the cam.

Have you tried buying a programmer/tuner?

I think that this defeats the purpose of Colton's question, though. There are a numerous things he could do to get the answers but chose to come to the GMTC.

That's a tough questions, Colton. Hang in there... hopefully someone will be able to help in the near future and give you a little insight.

I have nothing to offer you here. Sorry. But I did read it, and am very curious. Why do you have a 1500HD that has the 4.8L in it. The 1500HD came with a 6.0L. And I understand that you said you bought it straight from the dealership like that, but why would it be like that? Assuming you bought it new, that means they orderd a 1500HD, recieved it, and swapped the engine? Or, they orderd a 4.8L 1500, and slapped an HD emblem on it. And assuming you bought it used, why is the original engine missing? What happened? Did they ride the truck so hard, that they tore the engine up, and had to replace it? If so, is anything else on the truck worn out? I realize I'm just throwing a bunch of crap at the wall hoping something will stick. I've always been very leary about buying a vehicle with a rebuilt/replaced engine. Who did the work? What skill level do they have? Anyways, now that I've hopefully filled your head with all forms of questions and doubt, I'll shut up now. It was just some food for thought.

No 1500HD has a 4.8, does it have 8 lug bolts on the wheels? I would PAY to have the VIN number checked and find out what is going on!! Did you buy this brand new or used, I would be doing everything I can to find out why an "HD" has a tiny V8 in it and not the 6.0!!

I completely agree. I don't know if I conveyed this in my post on here, but my worry is that you have payed for a HD, but didn't recieve an HD. I mean that like going to a restaurant and ordering lobster and they bring you a crawfish. They may look the same, but, I mean... c'mon who doesn't want a lobster. Haha, I'm retarded, sorry.
