Hey guy i just got this truck about a week ago. Its is the very basic deal nothing has ever been done to it. So i got along way to go before im happy. Lokking to get some suggestions on the exausht set up as thats prob going to be the first thing i have done. I want it to sound good but not be the guy you hear three blocks away and come by doing 30 mph
you all know they are out there. So i do know theres flowmaster few diff series, i have heard of magnaflow systems and a few others. I have been under truck already looking. I see that it is dueled about half way to the back of the truck. Then its connected to a y pipe and run into the muffler and come out single.
What im am wanting is to go dual all the way to the back. What would be best way to do this single muffler with dual chambers, straight pipe any ideas or suggestions would be great like i said just want a nice sound not be the loudest thing on the road. I also dont want to effect the gas or performance to much. Thanks ahead for any replies

I love my flowmaster, great sound.

You mentioned Straight pipes... Not the way to go if you don't want to be heard 3 blocks away.
You mentioned flowmaster and magnaflow. Both of those site have a neat option where you can listen to the type of vehicle you plan on adding the exhaust to.
When I was last shopping I remember listening to sound clips that were labled reving, takeoff, drive by. They are handy tools if your imagination needs some help.
Don't know how much you want to spend but Corsa has the same feature on their website.

A DI/DO Magnaflow 18" would probably give you just what your looking for. Loud enough but not annoying and it would give you a dual setup all the way like you want. The best bet to not lose mpg or low end torque would be just a muffler swap with a SI/SO2.5-3" pipe.
If you go duals go with 2.25 pipe to keep your low end.

Look into the Flowmaster 3 chamber, 2.5" diameter pipe. The 3 chamber is quieter than the 2 chamber and you don't need more than 2.5" pipe. Slap on some chrome tips and you're good.

Thanks for all the advice does anyone have any of these ideas put on their truck i would love to hear from them courtisy of you tube. Cause i have out of town shops. I called around my only exausht guy only offers flowmaster he says $300 but not sure the series so what should i be asking for to be sure he doesnt sell me some crap. If some guys can give me good info ill be sure the shop lets me do a tutorial on it with pics. i just need to know what series to put on. I only have the 4.8l dont wanna sound like a douche bag ridding making alot of noise not going anywhere lmao but its real
Is that $300 for the muffler alone, or muffler, piping and instal. It really doesn't matter, that is out rageous. You can pick up a full exhaust system (cat-back) for a little more money and install it yourself, with just some basic hand tools.

the top one is the newest with an 80 series muffler and the bottom one is with a 40 series. i like the 40 better.

When I got exhaust on my 05 I couldn't do true duals because of a the sensors in the muffler. But I have a 40 series flowmaster with dual 4 inch tips coming out the back. To me it isn't loud enough. But you can also get a higher series such as the 50 or 70 series which are quieter. It is all personal opinion on loudness. Just make sure you get stainless steel tips instead of chrome, same look just last a lot longer with less maintence. My buddy has chrome and his are already rusting after 2 years. I've had s.s. on my for 3 years and no problem
