Hey guys, bought my first brand new vehicle back in october. Went with the Silverado Lt extended cab with the 5.3L
First of all I love my truck, no regrets.. was undecided between this and an F150 because thats what my dad has had for years. Didn't listen and got the bowtie, and glad I did.
Anyways, so far i tinted the front windows, added the molded hood protector, window guards, soft toneau cover, and threw some LED bulbs in for the licensce plate lights.
My future plans will include an exhaust when i decide which one i want, I hear a lot of good about gibson and flowmaster.. don't want something to loud but im also taking into consideration the AFM and i think that will be what makes up my mind. Anyone have some input?
This is my first truck, I will never go back to the import car scene.. with that said im kinda fond to speed, don't get me wrong the truck has plenty of power but hey mores always better right? Not made of money just wondering what might be good for me, and ofcourse without voiding my warranty. Any ideas guys?
Since I had the truck, got my first oil change last month.. im pretty sure stock/dealer uses convential oil, wondering if I should shell out the extra cash for synthetic.. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks Guys.. John

As for the sythetic it has to be broken in with the conventional, but go with the synthetic it will actually be less money for changes in the long run as you only need to change in the 8000 mile range, my old mans 6.0 has got 1.5-2 MPG increase from the sythetic. The only drawback is the first time you run synthetic you can only go about 1000 miles as this will break down anything that is left in the motor and needs to be able to get out. Each change is roughly 80 at the dealership, the old man does it there.

Welcome. Where in Upstate you at? When you figure out what exhaust and intake to go with look up Blackbear for a custom tune. Much better performance than the power programmers. I am with you came form the tuner car scene to a truck and won't go back.

Welcome to the forum! Like others have said I would do intake, exhaust and a tune. From what I've seen custom tunes are better performance wise but other ones like edge, or hypertech or any of the others have a better user interface. You can change tire size, compensate for different gears etc.
