    Default Which Fuel Pump?

I just purchased a 2000 Chevy Silverado 4x4 longbed w/ 5.3 It has 184k on it and the fuel guage bounces back and forth. I just want to replace the whole pump so I knock out 2 birds w/ one stone. Which pump should I order? Evap or non evap? How do I know? Thanks

discribe "bounces"; as the truck hits bumps and sways, or the gauge kind of flutters back and forth.

I've done my research and it's the common sender problem but while I'm there I want to replace the pump. The guage will read somewhat correctly and then cut out all the way down below the E. Its the sender Im sure. Very common problem but I just need to know how to tell what kind of fuel pump I need so I can order it.. Thanks

Probably the easiest thing will be write down the VIN and call the dealership parts dept they can tell you then you can get it somewhere else cheaper

Agreed. Any place you plan on purchasing the fuel pump assembly will be able to get you the correct one if you just tell them the truck, year, model, engine, etc etc.

AC Delco is recommended, I believe.
